Organizing your products effectively is crucial for helping customers find what they’re looking for in your online store. Tags and categories are also used to choose which products are recommended throughout your site. Quick Elements makes it easy to create and manage product categories and tags. Here’s a quick guide to get you started.
Creating Product Categories
Click on “Categories” option in the sidebar under the “Shop” submenu.

Add a New Category:
- Enter the category name
- (Optional) Add a description and choose a parent category if applicable
- Display type: Choose how the category will appear in your store’s navigation
- Click “Add new category”
Creating Product Tags
- On the sidebar, click “Product Tags” under the “Shop” submenu.
- Enter your tag name
- (Optional) Add a slug (The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.)
- (Optional) Add Description
- Click “Add new tag”

Assigning Categories and Tags to Products
- On the sidebar, click “Products” under the “Shop” submenu.
- Find the product you want to categorize or tag, and click “Quick Edit”
- Check the boxes next to relevant categories
- Enter tags in the tag field, separating multiple tags with commas
- Save your changes

Alternatively you can edit the tags and categories on the product page itself. Click on the product you want to edit, and edit the tags and categories on the right side.
Don’t forget to click the Update button when you’re done.

- Use clear, descriptive names for categories and tags
- Keep your structure simple and intuitive
- Use tags for attributes that cut across categories
